The Office of Women and Minorities in Engineering (WME) at Oregon State University is dedicated to motivating and inspiring women and minority students to pursue careers in computer science and engineering. WME houses the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation in STEM (LSAMP), an NSF-funded program with a goal of doubling the number of URM STEM graduates during the five-year grant cycle.
WME can serve as a source of recruitment for REU experiences, internships, and scholarships for underrepresented students (female and minorities).
WME partners with OSU pre-college programs, OSU diversity initiatives, and various community organizations to bring females and underrepresented minority students to campus to increase interest in the STEM fields. Faculty members are encouraged to participate in these outreach activities and can satisfy outreach and broadening participation requirements on grant funded projects.
